District 42 is proud to announce: Eugene Schneider, DTM, was honored by President, Helen Blanchard (1985/86) at the International Convention in Reno, Nevada, with the "Presidential Citation," highest tribute made by our organization. This is an annual award given for outstanding contribution by an individual and the recipient is selected from all members world-wide.
Eugene joined Toastmasters in Winnipeg in 1978. He served as Secretary, Administrative and Educational Vice President. He was twice selected as Outstanding Toastmaster at club level. In 1982-3, he was selected Area Governor of the Year and then served as a Division Lt. Governor the following year.
Eugene became a member of District 42 when he moved to Hinton in 1984. He has sponsored The Rocky Mountain Hot Air Club in Jasper and was the Charter President of the Alpine Club that formed this summer in Hinton.
Eugene has also been active in promoting both Youth Leadership and Speechcraft programs. In May of this year, he received the highest designation of Toastmasters, DTM - Distinguished Toastmaster.
District 42 extends a hearty congratulation for a job well done. We wish you, Eugene Schneider, DTM, many more satisfying and rewarding years in Toastmasters.
